WRX Styling
The WRX started in 2002 with it's rally looking headlights and the sleek and sexy body styling. The design moves on every two years, and as most WRX enthusiasts will tell you, it's a exciting change. Like I said before the 2002-2003 models were a very rally looking car that could look very mean if you painted the headlights with some eyelids. Some people think that the car looks like a bug driving down the road, both are true I think but to me I like the original WRX style but of the 4 different styles out, I have to say this design would rank number 3 out of the 4.

The 2004-2005 WRX style is a modest change from the 2002-2003. The headlight design is about the only appearance thing that changed. This style flows with the car a little more and gives it a consumer car look to it, but mated with whats under that all-telling hood scoop is where it differs from all else. The car did not change a whole lot besides the headlights being redesigned, but this is a very good design and I rate it at number 2.

The 2006-2007 WRX is by far and away my favorite. The front got a total redesign that just ekes power and aggression. It has a look that no other car on the road has, which is great because the WRX is surely different from all other consumer cars on the road. The grill is the major change which has a tri-split design that flows right into the headlights, which have a up swept design that just looks so aggressive and like it will eat up the competition. This is the design that I give my number 1 rating to.

The 2008-2009? WRX is I think the weakest of the 4 designs. Subaru seemed to have dropped the uniqueness of the Impreza, because it now looks like a lot of other consumer cars out there. The headlights and tail lights are uniquely shaped but the body style lacks the curves that the previous WRX's had, which is a fault in my opinion. The hood scoop is really the only eye catcher for the new WRX because it is integrated into the hood unlike previous models.

I agree with you that I like the 06-07 model.The 2006-2007 is a lot better then the 2008 model. I like the 2006 model because it has a style to it and it doesn't look like every other car on the world. I also think that more people like the 2008 model because it is new and people feel like they should like it. They go on what other people say because people liked the 2006 model before the new one.
I think you should do a little more work on a cars before you start getting your facts there a lot more to in then turbos an an STI and intakes. but i think that the 2003-04 are the better looking one.
Matt, there is no 2003-2004 model style. there is 2002-2003 model, and the 2004-2005 model. I have no idea what your comment means so I can't really comment back.
Em, I totally agree with your idea that people like the 2008 because it is new and they feel like they want to like the new factor. To me, that is the only reason why they do. Good call!!
Well, I like the 08-09, and you know I'm all about the newest coolest thang. ; 0 As for the bug-ishness appearance, or the criticism based on same, I don't care. I like it. But then, I liked the original Bug too.
MrB, I would point you in the direction that Em said. Everyone likes the 2008 because it's new. But to me, its so much of a plain looking car I think it lost a lot of what the WRX was. It was a sporty consumer car that had a little flare to it. Because it lost its body styling and because smoother and basic I think we lost a little of that flare. AS for the bug eyes, I really like that model. It gives the rally-inspired look. Some others don't like that setup, but for me thats what makes the WRX stand out from all others.
